Assigning an officer to randomly patrol an area to serve as a deterrent to street level crime (ie burglary or prostitution) Focuses on reducing street crime rather than crimes committed in people"s homes (burglary) Conducting specific and detailed research on a community"s problem to discover the underlying dynamics of crime. Graffiti is a serious issue (usually peoples" signs or for gangs, etc. ) Review ways police responds to issues in community and identify most effective responses. Report any activity you find to police (ie community watch)
