Was a democratic machine, completely controlled new york politics. Was political machine that was patronage based. Early leaders george washington plunked- self interest with his constituents. Client included jewish brides, italian, and burned out tenants. He was the boss of tammany hall before george plunked. Tweed was elected into the house of representative as a congressman.
