For this assignment, i watched a documentary called the black power mixtape 1967- The documentary consists of footages shot by swedish reporters in america between 1967 to 1975. Although it does not presume to tell the entire story of the black power movement, it illustrates how it was perceived by the swedish journalists. The footages include appearances by numerous leading contemporary african-american artists, activists, musicians and scholars; such as, stokely carmichael, dr. martin luther king, jr. , Eldridge cleaver, bobby seale, huey p. newton, louis farrakhan, emile de antonio, richard. The documentary opens up with a speech from. He believed if we stay peaceful and suffer, people will see our sufferings and it will open up their minds. However, as the speaker stated, martin luther king made one fallacious mistake by believing that his opponent had conscience because america had none. As i was watching the documentary, i realized that i did not believe that statement.
