Intermarriage allows individuals more broad personal choices about their identities. Even though different ethnic groups have stereotypes each other, intermarriage can break stereotypes about others. Because of intermarriage, many different ethnic groups are present and stereotypes are everywhere. Nevertheless, appiah indicates that rather than denying or repeating others" stereotypes, changing of a way about new things can break assumptions about others. Intermarriage can easily change individuals" perspectives about others" stereotypes because when they see their identities they chose each other, it makes them acquired new way of seeing thing (appiah 76). According to hawaiian society, because of intermarriage, all individuals are mixed and see others who have different races and cultures. Especially, kids become unaware that they are different because they have appreciations about others. Because of new cultural benefits, they communicated using a pidgin that combined words from many languages (olson 339).
