Using economics to spur a shift to renewable energy. Phase out dependence on fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Promoted renewable sources of energy by allowing consumers to capture energy and sell it back to the power companies. Win win for germany and the individual who is using renewable energy. Stronger, more dependable wind over the ocean. Economics: production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. People meet most of their needs directly from nature. Ex. fisherman catches his own fish, farmers grow their own crops. Less pollution because it generally does not drive consumption. Adam smith wrote the inquiry into the wealth of nations in 1776. It is not the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker that we expect our dinner, but from their regard of their own self-interest . Butcher, brewer, and baker is not concerned with the consumer"s wellbeing, but are concerned with their wellbeing.
