The eagle has landed: published in the initial aftermath of us innervation in afghanistan, compared to when the soviet union intervened their equivalent of our vietnam war. Intervention seemed to be going well and less problematic than many had expected to be. In global military term it"s very clear there is only one global payer that counts. Cultural power: 45 % of all internet traffic takes place in one country, 75% of nobel winners, world biggest banks, world"s best universities. The eagle has crash landed: major shift in his previous position of relative decline. Impressed with strength of military power in response to 9/11 attacks: us is not in decline and in fact it seems american power is resurging. Maintaining american power: from injury to recovery (kennedy) Improved training, operations and intelligence: educational reforms, increases in business efficiency and larger investments in technology, america after 9/11.
