5 priorities of government: establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote general welfare, posterity. Due process- the amount of justice each man is due. Substantive due process- the rights themselves (right to bear arms, etc. ) Procedural due process- the steps the government must take to protect one"s miranda rights. Banana republic- a form of government where the government exists but everything else is chaos, venezuela, brazil, somalia, ethiopia, djibouti. Aristocracy- ruled by the elite, aristotle belief that the best should rule. Kleptocracy- a government that steals from it"s people. Theocracy- under rule of a religion or religious leader. Fascism- the form of government where everything is controlled by government power. If the majority says that it ought to be so, that is majority rule. Minority rights- the opposition of majority rules, bill of rights serves as a safeguard for minorities. African-american"s can"t vote = majority rule, groups of minorities want to change that = minority rights.
