Dangerous because it"s something pretty simply to understand . What were you told to believe about evolution: told nothing at all, told to accept it, told not to believe it at all. Today"s zeitgeist the age of information explosion. An opportunity arose, giving him a chance to travel. By 1842, darwin had: drafted most of the ideas, insured the eventual publication. But : daughter died, son ill, darwin ill. Published a couple papers on this not really exciting papers though. Publication called vestiges of the natural history of creation (1844) was put together talked about sun, stars, movement of planets, chemistry, biology, ideas of origins of species, etc. Not really grounded in facts though the victorian sensation talked about the book. & nobody knew who had written it darwin"s colleges knew about his manuscript but he wasn"t ready to publish it yet. Darwin knew that ideas could have consequences (ie: socrates, bruno, etc. )
