Infants from 5 months look longer at impossible outcome. Due to a perceptual process, known as subitizing . May be tracking objects, not counting (there"s one mickey mouse and another; not counting 1 and 2, but just another process that tracks) 9month olds understanding of addition and subtraction not restricted to small numbers. Not due to tracking : shape of objects changed.
