5 factor model: mccrae and costa: neuroticism: all types of personality, agreeableness: what agreeable people are not, conscientiousness, extraversion, openness: open to experience in different areas. Some may be open in some areas but not in other areas. These factors can be a bunch of things that move together. People become more 2,3 and 5 but less 1. Traits which are impt in intimate adult relationships. High neuroticism: seek ppl with similar traits but doesn"t work out well. Hostility one of the biggest issues in neuroticism which causes issues. Conscientiousness is big in job achievement: because you do what is required and this is positive on job. Conscientiousness ppl: do what is needed to do, they are promoted and given jobs: they do better at their jobs. Personality and health personality affects health and longecity. Conscientiousness have good health behavior, will follow rules and eat right and exercise. High neuroticism (impulsiveness): will overdo things, drink more.
