Any organization offering a product or service has a supply chain
Product created from materials, equipment, labor, time, money, etc
Requires suppliers, manufactures, and customers
Can be simple or complex
Exist in any size, public or private, for-profit or non-profit organizations
Supply chain process designed to expedite process and provide product more
effectively and efficiently
Joins together Suppliers->Manufacturers->Consumers
Suppliers deal with raw materials, intermediate goods, and finished goods
Manufacturers finish product
Consumers use product
Facilitated through the use of logistics
Consists of flow of materials and products
