I chose to go see the laramie project on saturday, february 27th. The play"s set was very barren and only had white stairs on the stage. The background had a screen that projected images onto it depending on the scene. That was very creative and i appreciated the use of technology with such an old school tradition that a play is. The play itself was very well written and creatively performed. However, i was not a fan of the acting itself. Most of the actors felt very scripted and unemotional, their attachment to their roles minimal. Matthew"s college advisor continuously moved his hands back and forth whenever he spoke which took away from the scene. All i could remember was the constant movement and lack of passion from his character. The theme of acceptance was there but i felt like it wasn"t as noticeable as i wanted it to be.
