Lewis cass one of the main advocate for popular sovereignty, has 44% of electoral votes and 43% popular votes. Free soil party got 0% electoral vote and 10% of popular votes. No slavery in lands that is still questionable. Federal government cannot tell states what to do. Don"t want slavery in any other lands that become states. New york has 36 electoral votes while everyone else has around 3-12. People owned by other people are counted as 60% of one person. For every 8 immigrants, 7 go to free states.
