Document Summary

In this week s reading, rule 28 to rule 33 were discussed. Beginning with rule 28, it started off with deductive arguments in several steps. This established modus ponens, which breaks down arguments into several valid arguments in simple forms. On these pages, it offered several examples using one argument on how to draw conclusions from other arguments to be used as premises for further conclusions. The ability to rule out potential directions that these arguments can be taken is modus tollens. By observing and using these observation to deduce inferences, also known as an extended disjunctive syllogism, the last factor is the one known to be true. Rule 29 examined how to explore the issue. When writing said argument, one must remain open and ready to be swayed other ways, from other arguments or sides that arise. Vagueness is alright to begin with, as the research is continued, the arguments become more refined.
