Example: toy is put under blanket: without object permanence-it"s gone: with object permanence- know it"s somewhere: preoperational. Egocentric: perceive world only from their point of view. Example: 4yr old on phone with dad and nods head instead of speaking. Example: little girl is asked if she has a sister: yes.
