Document Summary
Definition of learning: the change in behavior due to experience. How do we learn: three types of learning. Nonassociative, associative learning, observational: habituation, dishabituation, sensitization. How do we learn predictive associations: conditioning. Be able to define and id examples of usc, ucr, cs, cr. General concept of contiguity: the idea that we are more easily able to form association between things that happen in a short time from each other (ex. Punishing your dog for knocking over a plane 3 hrs after it happens vs. right after) Relation to drug use: in untypical/unritual environments (example of doing crack everyday after school vs in the bathroom at a restaurant, unfamiliar rutine, more likely to overdose. Reward and punishment: reward increase the likelihood of behavior, punishment decreases the likelihood of behavior, positive refers to adding and negative refers to taking away. Reinforcement increases the likelihood of a behavior to happen again.
