Document Summary

This guy read a book in class and he"s talking about how the book says that people like big lies and they like to hear it enough to think it"s the truth. Drug dilemma is that people made lies so good about drugs by involving them in movies etc. Everyone thinks that black, poor , inner city youth that they do the most drugs but they are actually the ones who do the least doing drugs. The ones who do the most drugs are white, middle class, suburban. When the person visit some of these suburban areas, they don"t believe that their kids know what drugs are (ignorance) and therefore the problem gets bigger. Big lie #1: law enforcement will be in charge of solving the drug problem. (started in about 1980) thus the zero tolerance policy was enforced. The jails got so crowded because of it, they either had to build more jails or let them go.
