Cbt is successful in treating depression, stress disorders, and anxiety: has been criticized for focusing on the symptoms of disordered behavior. Family counseling: family members meet together with a counselor to resolve problems that affect the entire family. Self-help group: a group that has similar problems that meet together to discuss and problem solve for emotional and social support. Group therapy is most useful to : people (cid:449)ho ca(cid:374)"t afford i(cid:374)di(cid:448)idual therapy, may obtain social and emotional support from the group members. Advantages of group therapy: low cost, social interaction with other people with similar problems, social and emotional support from people with similar problems. Disadvantages of group therapy: has to share therapists time with other people in group, lack of private setting.
