Document Summary

1. 5. 1 process model decomposition (level 1) explanation. The level 1 process model, or decomposition, is a model that is derived from the level 0 process model that goes into much greater detail. Each process in a level 1 is called sub- processes, and are the sub processes of the main processes from level 0. The purpose of decomposition process model is to identify specific functions throughout the company"s system. It is useful for managing the smallest details that can further increase efficiency in production throughout a business. The downside of decomposition is that it gets highly detailed which results in difficulty in understanding the process. It is the analysts" responsibility to ensure that users fully understand what needs to be done in order for the decomposition to be executed with full efficiency. Much like the level 0, except in the decomposition level the external entities, system boundary, and databases are not shown.
