Document Summary
Theropods: all of them eat meats, either themselves; predation/hunting, or dead animals. Bipedal: the only family that stayed bipedal during the entire mesozoic. Ziphodont (fancy way of saying its serrated tooth) Intramandibular joint: having an extra joint in the mandibular area. Between their nose and eyeballs they have an extra hole (eye orbit and nasal passage) First appeared in the late triassic to today. Able to adapt any environment that they encounter. Range: late triassic to present, global distribution, highly adaptive (learn to fly, exhibited feathers, specialized jaws and claws) Furcula (wishbone; helps connect shoulder blade to the spine to provide extra force when you try to fly, run, fight and etc) Manual digit v lost (don"t have anymore pinky) Pedal digit i and iv reduced (big toe and pinky toe lost) Ability to run fastly and claw things faster. These clades do not include coelophysiodea and dilophosaurus. Size increased from 6-8cm: sds, noasauridae, smaller dinosaur, more primitive looking.
