The model for adaptive leadership consists of situational challenges, leader behaviors, and adaptive work. The three situational challenges are technical, technical and adaptive, and adaptive. Technical challenges are problems in the workplace that can be clearly identified and solved by accepting the leader"s authority. Challenges with both a technical and adaptive dimension can be clearly defined, but the solution isn"t straightforward. Both leaders and followers need to contribute and tackle the challenge together. Adaptive challenges are not easy to identify and require that the leader encourage others and have support in order to generate solutions.
