You"ve probably heard that jesus was jewish, but most christians are not taught about jesus in his jewish context. From levine"s introduction, i learned many misunderstandings that jews and. Christians had was that the jews killed the lord and were supposedly responsible for the death of jesus. There is another misunderstanding that all jews strictly follow every word of the torah and whether jews keep animals for temple sacrifice, however these are all simply just misunderstandings. However from levine"s introduction i learned that in many ways, jewish and christian texts are very similar. Just like how jesus fusses at priests, so does amos in judaism. Just like how jesus survives when children around him are being slaughtered, so does moses. Some of the stories within the bible are similar to the stories in the hebrew bible, such as matthew 2-7. Jewish synagogue recognize the exemplary mother and her seven sons.
