She has 6 children; none of them are gimpel"s. Gimpel acknowledges that she hurts him, but he adores her. She ends up in hell anyways because of all of her wrongs; warns gimpel. Sees the good in everyone even though their actions/statements may be questionable. (ex) when gimpel sees his wife in bed with another man, he sees that she has cheated on him and is devastated. In the end, after elka denies cheating on gimpel, gimpel gives her the benefit of the doubt and thinks that he might have been mistaken. He thinks the man was a shadow or something of that sort. His logic is that he"ll be considered a fool even if he believes people or not, so he might as well believe them.
