A passerby got afraid of him when he was walking down the street. Pop cultural + media give people these ideas in their head. There is a history to it: ex: jim crow laws. Racial profiling: stop & frisked , person, and location. Keep being told what you should do you might end up doing it: you will do that i guess that"s what i should do. Poor and education: the profile of those who commit violent crimes. It is not based off of ethnicity p341: the fears women have of crime: the danger they perceive are not hallucinations, african american males are over represented as perpetrators, thus pedestrians avoid making eye contact. These fears and ideas come up a lot in media such as: movies, music, lyrics & videos, news, what is important, what is said first, the color of skin especially if he"s black. Where fear and weapons meet, death is a possibility especially in urban areas.
