Rather theology attempts to construe all things, the world, human existence, human history and society, as well as god within the vision that is mediated to the christian community by its religious symbols. : theology is about all things , theology"s relationship to symbols, we must first overcome the common perception that the symbol i equivalent to the unreal. i. e. it"s just a symbol , symbols convey, through what is seen, a level of meaning and reality that always remains unseen, but that is nonetheless present. Two ages of faith: theology provided a connection between the past and the present, the faith of those who have taught us about god, our faith in god in the present, they are related but distinct, we in the present do not simply repeat the past, even in terms of our awareness of god, the past is not so alien to us that it cannot speak to us in any way.
