Early in japan"s political history, imperial family clans ruled. The first emperor of japan were both political and religious leaders. They were thought to be descendants of the sun goddess. Japan and the way of the warrior was not necessarily more important than the way of the tradesman or farmer. Today, japan"s political system is a constitutional monarchy. The ancient indigenous religion of japan is the shinto religion. Goes in hand with pagan religion because it recognizes and honors many gods also known as kami. Believed in correcting mistakes through purification and forgiveness. Believed that divine presence exists within all things. Amenouzume became the goddess of music and dance.
