Kim reads the chapter prior to class and attends class regularly. As soon as a slide appears on the screen, kim focuses on copying down everything on this slide. When finished, kim looks to the front of the room and begins listening again to the examples the instructor is saying out loud and discussion with class. She studies for the exam, including by making acronyms, finding relationships with material from other classes, and practicing defining terms. A friend teases that kim may be studying too much for a 200- level class, to which kim points out findings related to overlearning and the time limit on the exam. Direct interview 6 weeks later cross-examination 8 months later: children made changes to their responses in cross-exam.
