For drugs that people want to be able to give to themselves ex. Ip (intraperitoneal)- putting a needle into the body cavity that contains your intestine. Spinal cord- middle is meninges (pia-serves to protect spinal cord from some toxins. If you get something into it, it will get into the brain) , arachnoid- , dura. Intrathecal injections are given if you have to get something to the brain and you don"t want any of the toxic effects as a result/for fast access. Epidural injections- to freeze nerves (dura) given right as a nerve leaves the spinal cord. Takes half an hour to numb the nerves. It can be toxic. ex ; skin patches. If you cover your body with 40% of any drug, you can kill yourself. If you put on too much it can kill you. A lot of blood flow in your nose: does not have a complete blood brain barrier.
