Work is the carrying out of task that require the expenditure of physical and mental effort. Sociological work is similar to that of the physics definition of work. There are a few definition of work: carrying out tasks for survival or tasks that require effort. If work is defined as the carrying out of task for survival, then playing a guitar would not be considered work , however if work is considered as anything that requires effort, then playing the guitar is considered work . Emotion work : someone who works a very tiring/hard job, they would require their family to give them emotional support. That is also a type of work, but not necessarily considered a job . Human societies have 2 universal economic characteristic: a division of labor of various degrees of complexity. Members of the society rely on one another [not one person know how to do everything: the application of technology to nature.
