Dbms developer: access is an example (but it"s not that good, microsoft sql server management system. Application software end user: myslice users don"t have access to the whole database, just small focused parts. Database is a collection of interrelated data. Database management system is a software which can be used to manage the data by storing it on to the data base and by retrieving it from the data base. Dbms = robust metadata, queries, lots of users can use at the same time, security, backup, remote users etc. Users do not communicate with dbmss directly. As a result dbmss although they can be used interactively, are not used interactively.
