The cooperation of different people may culminate in scientific results of utmost importance. The importance of dialogue is to reveal incoherence in our thought. All participants should work together to become sensitive to all possible forms of incoherence. Bohm"s three basic conditions necessary for dialogue: All participants must suspend their assumptions, literally to hold them as if suspended before us . All participants must regard one another as colleagues. There must be a facilitator who holds the context of dialogue. Dealing with current reality conflict and defensive routines. Smooth surface teams = members believe that they must suppress their conflicting views in order to maintain the team- if each person spoke their mind, the team would be torn apart by irreconcilable differences. Polarized team = a team where managers speak out but conflicting views are deeply entrenched.
