Parts of organism seemed designed to fit the purposes for which they are required: wings to fly, eyes for seeing, legs for walking (what we call adaptations) Patrilineal descent systems - complex solutions in environment where resources can be monopolized and used for the better of society. Idea that nature did not change, that god created the things the way they are, extinction isn"t accepted. Not enough food to feed all of the population and many birds died. Beak depth varied among the birds and the variation affected survival. Population evolved to small beak length to a larger beak length. 4% change in beak depth, which is a lot for evolution to progress.
