Test #2 Notes Skepticism: philosophical position that reflects a principle decision to withhold belief or  assent until more (or more compelling) evidence is presented.  Skeptic: I will not believe what you tell me to believe until I think it’s true.  Factory farming: In the movie, humans are factory farmed for energy.  Epistemology: branch of philosophy that is concerned with the limits and nature of  knowledge • What can we know? • What can we REALLY know? • Belief vs. knowledge • Opinion vs. facts/whole truth/empirical evidence • As we grow up, we replace poor beliefs with better ones • Especially shown in sci fi’s about time travel Time travel: technology; second chance • In terminators, it wouldn’t make it better creating a dystopia • Dystopia’s arise when we do not learn from our mistakes • Warns against using any technology that makes what you did better if you use it,  or says it will.
