Philosophical positions that emphasize empirical data and scientific methods. This tradition holds that the world consists of regularities, that these regularities are detectable, and, thus, that the researcher can infer knowledge about the real world by observing it. The belief that only the best of the best will survive. Eugenics; get rid of poor people, keep rich people because they are better and deserve to live. The degree to which people are tied to their social groups. I showed a video demonstrating the the society within, what is the society within? (hint: page: it is the signal of what is best in contemporary studies of man and society. A sociologist"s values should never enter or influence their research. How people interpret their situation in life, how they view what they are doing and what is happening to them. Basic (pure) sociology: analyzing some aspect of society with no goal other than gaining knowledge.
