Awakening of cheerful feelings on arrival in the countryside depicts herdsmen in elds: morning breeze chirping birds. 3rd movement: laughing and dancing: merry gathering of countryfolk, beethoven intended to represent a german country town dance becomes more animated, excited, and noisy then darker. 4th movement: thunder and storm grumbling sounds in the basses lots of force tells a story.
