Lowriding and cruising come hand and hand. History of lowriding and connection to ethnic identity. They were prideful to have their own car. There are women who go against this and counter this image. Women have pride and make it known that it"s not their husbands car. Individual pride and attention for type of car. How low can you go- low riding. Made a commitment and stepped out of the kitchen went into cars (women"s views) Had to work harder to be accepted into the community. Not accepted in mexico or us and created own way of surviving by creating a social club that attending dancing and parties. Want cars to be loud and bright do everyone knows they are there and that they are important or at least rich. Officers gave tickets for lowriding because car club were portrayed as gang members so everyone assumes that they were gang members. When all they wanted was a place and stuff.
