Focuses on some basic ethical premises, as well as attitudes and specific actions that have influenced how people create place and how that relates to our environment. The trilogy is essential to understand if we are to live in harmony with nature. This will be our test for survival as a species. The essential trilogy consists of : the land ethic, the tragedy of the commons, the tyranny of the small decisions. Ethics is generally used in 2 ways: ethics help us decide how we ought to live. Standards we employ to determine our actions. What we should or ought to do/ values we ought to hold. Good or bad/ right or wrong: ethics help explain why things are important to us. Why we value certain things and what actions properly reflect those values. To be nearer to the good of man. Not only because we see them right in themselves, but bring nearer to the good of man.
