The overall objective of this lab was to analyze and experiment with equivalent circuits in order to validate thevenin"s theorem. Using this theorem we can also use the definition of maximum power transfer to confirm our analysis. To begin the experiment we construct a circuit in multisim and calculate the thevenin voltage and resistance. Once calculated we confirm these values using the tools provided in multisim and record our results. Next we construct the same circuit in hardwire and compare the values in hardwire to the ones previously obtained. We repeat this step for multiple circuits and compare the results. Lastly we are provided with a black box containing an unknown circuit. We measure the values of current and voltage on the box and replicate these values using a thevenin equivalent.
