Wheat was the staple crop in europe/asia. Cahokia and tenochtitlan were city-states ruled by a theocratic (priest) government grew corn and other crops destroyed by severe droughts. There is a hierarchy in the indian villages mostly by old to young. Three main crops corn, squash, and beans. Women are responsible for agriculture and gathering food. Indians didn"t stockpile food, rather they performed nature banking so the food could keep reproducing. Whenever indians and colonists met, the fur trade ensued colonists are terrible hunters in exchange they gave them weapons, alcohol, etc.
