Nyc calorie disclosure law: passage of the nation"s first restaurant calorie disclosure law in 2006, nyc department of health amended the city"s health code to require most chain restaurants to post the number of calories in menu items. Nyc calorie law: supporters, fda obesity workgroup report, center for science in the public interest ( cspi ). Who were the advocates: the surgeon general"s call to action to prevent and decrease. Medical association support federal, state, and local policies to require fast-food and other chain restaurants to provide consumers with nutrition information on menus and menu boards. The challenge: ccf issued a press release stating that [new yorkers] already know the difference between a banana and a banana split, or a milkshake and a diet soda .
