Regardless of how much knowledge you might acquire, you are still ignorant without action - you would be neither scholar nor learned, but an animal carrying books. A donkey doesn"t know whether it"s carrying books or rewood. The poem is talking about balancing knowledge with experience, and they should be playing off of each other, not compared. It does not matter what opinion you have, if you don"t take action then you are just as ignorant as someone without an opinion. It tells us about how they organized their society, they are describing the world around them and the power structures. Understanding ancient gender roles, how we believe some of the perspectives.
