A wheel conspiracy consists of a single conspirator, generally the ringleader who is interconnected to every other coconspirator. A chain conspiracy consists of co conspirators connected to each other like links in a chain but without a central interconnected ringleader: consequences. In some states, individuals who enter a conspiracy are criminally responsible for every reasonably foreseeable crime aka the pinkerton rule. One factor used to determine foreseeability is the degree of the defendant"s involvement in the conspiracy: wharton"s rule. J. 1. a criminal offense that requires two parties cannot be the object of a conspiracy that consists of two parties. J. 3. however, a statute can expressly criminalize a conspiracy to commit any crime: renunciation as a defense to conspiracy. Thwart the crime that was its object prior to the actual crime.
