Mice: time/inevitability of death, represent day & night. Chapter 5 - tries to use reason to find meaning: Not the way we can find meaning. Tries to find meaning of life in life itself; includes people around him. Explains life but can"t give you meaning. He"s saying that the only way that people can achieve a transcendent experience of having a meaning of life is by finding god or our own individual meaning. He thinks you shouldn"t use reason to deny faith because it kind of takes away from meaning/faith is a choice.
