Many dictatorships collapsed in the 90s and after 9/11. Research has shown that no matters who wins the election, the policies put in place tend to favor the top 1% People"s ability to participate in politics depends on education, time, and money. Places that have elections tend to see more violence than places that don"t. Criminality: people with criminal records tend to do well in elections in these countries. Telling voters if a candidate have a criminal record makes no difference. They win because they know the correct tactics to win. Good government: carrying out the policies a country actually needs. Countries such as this are often times poor due to their economic policies. Countries with elections do not grow faster economically.
