Examples: shock therapy, counseling, prayer, exorcism, aversion, therapy, hypnotism. Being trans can be genetic, prenatal, hormonal, and/or experiential. Lgbtq community believe that gender is a continuum, not a binary. Secular treatment available to help with distress - changing the body to match the mind rather than changing the mind to match the body. Gender uidity adheres to the principle that gender identity can change but it should not be forced to change. Statistics on lgbtq are hard to come by for several reasons: some identity options are not available, hard-to-reach population.
