Document Summary

Instrumentation: conga; bell; drum; tumbadora; sticks; quinto; claves; caj n. Location: south america, mexico, central america, and carribean. Additional insight: research an additional piece of cultural music from the carribean. The wide variety of instruments made the pieces of this album all very unique and interesting from one another. The piece i chose to further analyze was entitled (cid:862)yambu(cid:863) which means rumba. There is definitely a rumba feel to this song, and if i were choreographing a piece to this, i would want all of my dancers in brightly colored costumes with flowers scattered across the stage. I would want them to perform outside, in a tropical location with palm trees overhead. This song feels like a song that would not only highlight the performers, but engage the entire audience as well!
