There are rules set in place to keep people from getting hurt. Hobbes- any individual has a right to resist the government to protect your life. Ex. of contract is the bill of rights. The contract tells us what are liberties are and what our contracts are. Tells what privileges are and what obligations are. Human beings in nature are blank slates (not good or bad) Experience- through your experience in life this will lead you to good or bad choices. Law of nature for locke is the golden rule. Problem, we cannot enforce the golden rule. There is a difference between legality and reality. People are biased and will see the law as having different meanings.
