October 25, 2013 Pre­Lecture: Two lines between parents on a pedigree = inbreeding  Lecture: Thomas Hunt Morgan – famous for his genetic research with fruit flies Hemizygous – only one copy X­Linked recessive traits: appear more often in males and are not passed from father to son Y­Linked traits: only affect males Autosomal recessive traits appear with equal frequency in both sexes and seem to skip  generations • If the person doesn’t exhibit the trait, you can get rid of the homozygous recessive  genotype possibility, so possibility is out of 3 instead of 4  • Ex: Werner S
