Poor people, less educated people, and crime victims tend to rate the police lower than others. There are significant differences in opinions about the police among different cities. Young, african american (minority) males have the largest distrust in police. Most favorable perception of police officers = older, white females. They"re less likely to come into contact with them. People who are poor are less likely to respect the law and moral code = leading to lower opinion of the police. Racial and ethnic minorities are not homogeneous.
