• Minimalist style of design is currently the most popular
o Takes user behavior into consideration

o Accommodates mobile device use
▪ Responsive design or adaptive design has become a necessity
o Flat Design

• Minimalist design has been accused of draining flavor and variety from the web
o “Have we become lazy or is it that we have shifted our thoughts away from uniqueness
and towards a more effective user experience strategy?”
• Brutalism style is beginning to gain more popularity

o Primitive approach and emphasizes coding
